Has anyone here ever donated blood or anything else for that matter? I wanted to back when I was in high school then found out I was anemic (so I was rejected). Now it seems I have grown out of it and I am thinking about doing both that and donating for marrow if the need should ever arise.
I used to donate blood all the time. Only problem I had was that my veins are so small. They are also hard to find so it usually turned into a big operation for everyone. They always managed to get the blood though. It's been many years since I have done this.
Wow, donating marrow would be wonderful! I don't ever hear about that so I'm sure they could always use more. I have never donated blood - same boat as you... Anemic. I have not outgrown in yet though so they still won't take my blood.
I give blood every year - it's something that I enjoy doing (donating). I have never donated marrow though - I'm thinking this is something that you get tested for before you donate. I don't know if I would do this.
I went ahead and signed up for it, the place I found was doing a special all month long so anyone that registers this month the register fee is covered (I forget what company did it). I am going to take all of the paperwork for my next doctors visit and check with him before I proceed.
I try and donate blood, I do it about once a year, but would like to try and do it more. Never heard of donating marrow.
