We have had Dish TV for a couple of years and our contract is up next month. I checked with AT&T, where we have our phone and DSL and found out that I can get DirecTV (with same channel line up) and save almost $50 a month by doing a bundle. We are going to switch.

I need to look into a bundle like that. We have AT&T for everything except TV which is with Charter. When I called to get a better rate for internet service, they lowered the rate and increased the speed. It definitely pays to ask for a better deal.

AT&T called me the other day and quoted me $300 for AT&T Uverse tv, internet, and phone. That is almost my house payment so that will never happen.

That's a ridiculous price. I can't imagine anyone paying that much. It sounds like AT&T is kind of erratic with their pricing. I was under the impression that Charter was the more expensive of the two, but maybe that's changed. I don't see how anyone could stay in business charging those prices.

Hubby and I had bundled service with Comcast for 2 years. We paid $85 a month for the first year for cable, phone and internet service. When the promotion ended I tried in vain to get it at that price again but they wouldn't budge. We really only watched 6 channels and not that many shows on cable and it increased to $96 a month. We looked into other options and back in June we dropped the cable and phone service, bought our own cable modem for the internet which saved another $7 a month on modem rental fees and bought a magic jack. We now pay $43 a month for internet only and we paid $69 for 5 YEARS of the magic jack service (we were also able to port our number). It saves us so much money. I can't believe we didn't think of it sooner.
