Default Missed a payment!

I thought my credit card was paid off but it wasn't. I had racked up $1.03 in interest and did not see it. Well I got a call on Monday (holiday) and the guy asked me to make a payment by phone. I was like, I paid that off last month. I went online and saw that they charged me a $35 late fee and more interest. I was so mad! I tried to call today to talk to them to see if they would waive the fee, they won't.

I made a payment today over the phone for the entire amount so there should be no more interest.

Wow, so for one dollar you ended up with over $35 dollars in fees? It just shows you that credit cards can be highway robbery.

You have no idea how many times I screwed up like that with my CCs before I got out of debt. Very often the amount I went over was less than half of what it was after all of the fees.

I'm surprised they wouldn't waive it. Most companies have a 6-month rule: they'll give you a pass on something once every six months (or maybe a year?).

Wow, that is crazy! I'm sorry that happened to you and really, the company should have waived it if you have a good history with them.

I know that sucks, but you have to know that's how they operate. I've messed up like that way too many times, especially with my debit card. I once had 6 over limit charges on small purchases one day, because I didn't calculate how much money was in my checking correctly. I pleaded with the bank and got them to remove a small portion of the fees.

Wow, that is crazy that one tiny mistake, cost you so much! I would be fuming at myself, and the credit card company! I do not own a credit card, because if I did, I would get into trouble with it.

That's certainly a costly mistake. Banks can be just as bad. One overdraft fee with our bank is $45 so just imagine if you have 2 or 3 debit payments come through ...

I know some people who set their over draft directly off their bank savings to avoid issues like this, still its paid and that is the point. I know a ton of people that have had similar issues, that is just bum luck.

Ouch! I did that once and upset Paypal with my card through them. Then I quickly learned my lesson, their interest rate is insane compared to some of the normal credit card companies.
