Do you really need 2 vehicles? We freed up $450 a month by selling our second vehicle and eliminating the insurance, gas and maintenance on the 2nd one. It has made a huge difference.

My parents went down to one, but they are both retired. The wife and I tend to be going and coming at different times. Could we do it? Maybe. But would require a lot of planning and sacrifice.

We probably could with the exception of doctor's appointments. However, as the kids get older I imagine we will be going and coming a little more, and with no public transportation that could get hairy.

No. When he is at work I want to be able to leave the house and walking/public transportation are not options in this small town. It's not going to happen. At least my car is paid off and insurance isn't that bad.

There is no way we would be able to live with just 1 vehicle either. We live in the country so one would be stuck at home with the kids with no transportation. Not happening.

We have made do with one vehicle but it is hard at times. I do drive my husband back and forth to work so I have the vehicle during the day, so there is a bit of an expense involved, but it's worked for us.
