Question Buying a Used Car

Our car has finally racked up too many miles to make expensive repairs worthwhile. It's just one thing after another. However, we want to buy another car like a hole in the head.

We've bought used cars in the past with some good luck. How (and can you) talk them down a bit, or can you just forget it in this economy?

Well, if you're feeling ambitious, my partner just bought us an old truck for about $200, and she and our neighbor are rebuilding/fixing it. I'm guessing that's not what you have in mind.

You can always haggle a bit. You want to research the make/model/year of the car ahead of time and go from there. I know what you mean, though... I don't want to cheat anyone (or try to) while trying to get a lower price.
