Default Extra income

I know that its going to be rough by the time I reach the age to retire but what options will we have? I will still want to live in a good area, have money in my pocket and be able to buy things sometimes. What is a good extra income for those at the retiree age?

I think it depends on the jobs you have ever done and your professional skills. Try freelance jobs on the net if you are good at writing, web design and development, and the like.

There are several options available, I'm sure. A lot of my friends are going back to college in their 40s so they have options. There's always fast food and Walmart, too. ;-)

A friend of mine just got scammed by a wanna be Google invite that said she could work from home. She has no way to now contact this company and the place is not accepting phone calls. Too many shady places around lately.

That is why you run the name of the company through a Google search with the word scam behind it, and see what you get before actually dealing with a company like that.

You can always be the "greeter" at Wal-Mart. I know a lot of people that retire and then work part time jobs for their "extra money". You don't have to put up with the crap of a full time job - you work somewhere that you enjoy.

There is a senior work program where I live. After you turn 55 you can work up to 4 years on this program for minimum wage for 20 hours a week. It's a good program and they do work around disabilities. It's nice to have options.

I think by the time I reach that age I want to donate more of my time than worry about working. I am an animal lover at heart so if I could find some time to help out there it would be nice, even part time work would actually be okay (just no full time).

The scammers are probably out in full force with so many people looking for online methods to supplement their retirement. However, there are lots of legitimate options to be found as long as you do your research.
