I am curious when you started to do banking. Did you as a kid have your own savings account? Did your father or mother teach you on these things?

I was 15 or 16. I want to say 15 since that is when I officially started working. Had to have an adult on the account then. My parents helped, and I took a few classes in school like OJT (On The Job Training, you needed to take a basic class teaching you register math, work ethics, balancing a checkbook) along with a few business type classes.

I opened my first savings account when I was about ten. As I recall, I didn't really need much encouragement. I don't remember exactly, but I think I opened my first checking account the year I graduated from high school. Until then, I put everything I earned in my savings account.
