We just got a call from our bank on a house line speaking some gibberish about merchant account banking. We do not have a merchant account. Is it possible that B of A got phished?

I think it's more likely that they are trying to phish you, instead of B of A. I would call B of A customer service and let them know what happened so they can watch your account, just in case.
