Default Getting ahead

I think investing is a great avenue if you really want to get ahead. Whether it's stocks, real estate, or commodities, if you learn your stuff you can come out way ahead. It is much better than relying on the government to take us somewhere. That just won't happen. If you're good at anything that pays well, I say go all the way with it and don't hold back.

I am glad I have some investments and I manage them. When hard times hit it is nice to have a cushion to fall back on. Plus I want to retire one day, and without investing that won't happen.

I can agree more with you. Investing is a good option for you to secure your financial future and build long-term wealth. Just make sure to always choose the best and safest investment options.

I like the idea of investing, but I haven't figured out how to make it practical for us, when we have an unpredictable income. I'm glad you are making it work for you, CollegeGrad!

I have a few stocks from years back. They don't amount to much though so I'm thinking of investing in some more. I definitely think it’s a necessary thing to do in this economical climate.

Investing is good if you know the market. There are no "sure things" anymore. I had a lot of stock in Eastman Kodak and they just filed Chapter 11. Who would have thought?

Default Investing and time

Over time, investing in good quality stocks has returned great value to those who regularly set money inside and invest it without withdrawing the money to buy other things. It is wise to reallocate your funds. In the case of Kodak, you should have sold when you realized people were going toward digital photos. There were plenty of stocks to invest in instead of leaving your stock in Kodak to disintegrate.

The better half takes care of that for us both, but for the most part its all him. I tend to deal with keeping the budget in order. We both have our "things" that help us both out and we have tried to swap roles with these two, its bad.

I want to invest but we are still in debt-paying mode. Once those are gone, though, I hope we can make some money in the stock market.

I'm conservative with my investing. Although I do have some mutual funds which go up and down, I prefer to invest in GICs so at least I know my money is secure and I'm earning something on it.
