Default Best Tips for Going Green?

I would really like to start going a little more Green next year and would love to have some good tips on doing so. Would anyone here like to share some of what they have started to do? I think it would help and probably help others too. Thanks.

I just do what many other people have been doing: saving water and electricity, bringing my own bag when shopping in the grocery store, travelling less, and the like. Start it small, and grow it big.

Saving water would really help the environment. I imagine that in the (near) future it would be harder and more expensive to get fresh and clean water.

Well a couple of things that I do are to buy local food whenever possible to cut down on transportation emissions. I also have a big garden so I can grow a lot of fruit and vegetables in the summer. And we have a number of ceiling fans which cuts down on how high we need to turn the air on in the summer.

One of the greenest things you can do is to not waste anything. Recycle everything you can, whether it's through trash recycling or by getting creative. I do a number of other things to be green such as using pantry items to clean with rather than buying nasty chemicals - it's amazing what you can do with white vinegar, baking soda, salt and lemon juice.

The others have given some wonderful suggestions. You will find that as you become greener, you will want to do more and more! It's a great snowball effect.
