Default keeping payments organized

Who keeps the books in the house, you or the spouse? I know many people end up spending a ton of money on rent and mortgage but never keep receipts. That seems like bad book keeping to me.

It is the wife. I am not so organized when it comes to these things, but the wife is good at these. She keeps receipts, and in a very organized way.

I make all the payments and keep everything organized. I'm very particular when I receive a bill and never just leave it lying around. I'd be worried to death that something had been overlooked.

I pay most of the bills but the wife keeps the books, and she is pretty good at it. If I were the one who keeps the books, I think I would have messed it up.

I use one of those cardboard envelopes, the ones that are about the size of a business-size envelope, for storing receipts. That makes it easy to carry it with me in my bag. When I buy something, I can put the receipt in the envelope right away.

I do all the finances in my home but I must admit I am not very organized with the paperwork at home. Luckily, I put all my bills and payments into a phone app. I can quickly look at the calendar in this app and see what is due and how much I have in my accounts. If it weren't for this, I'm sure I'd miss a payment or two.

I take care of finances and tracking expenses. I set up a spreadsheet in Excel and it helps me remember which bills I've paid for the month, as well as see where disposable income is going.

I pay the bills, and keep track of the finances here. I am not so great at keeping the paperwork, but now everything is easily available online if I need it.

I pay all the bills, and keep track of the spending. The wife seems to have no interest in it. I may try and get her involved so if something happens to me she is not lost.
