Default Gifts for a ten year old kid

My nephew is celebrating his tenth birthday on January 3rd, so we are finding nice gifts for him. Any ideas? He is not a demanding child. He is the type of child who would accept any gifts someone gives him.

That has to be tough, especially with Christmas having just passed. Maybe you can find out what all he wanted for Christmas but might not have gotten? Or I just think gift certificates or money is good. They can get what they want that way.

I go along with CloverLee on this. Being that Christmas just got over with it would be a hard decision to make for a gift. With money or a gift certificate he could get what he wanted.

Maybe he would like a 3-D building kit. Or what about a telescope? Of course, the gift certificate suggestion is always a good one. If he likes to download music, you could give him an iTunes gift certificate.

Thanks a lot guys, they are all great ideas and suggestions! I think he would be happy to get a gift certificate. But a telescope would be a nice gift for him too.

I've always thought the newspaper from the day you were born gifts were kind of cool. Of course, he's only ten and it isn't quite as historical as it would be for an older person. But maybe he's a child that would appreciate a gift like that.

Check with his parents to see what he might have asked Santa for (who might have forgotten an item). That is the best way to get around the holiday deal, otherwise get him something that would be suitable for him. Does he build (legos, planes), does he like to be an artist (paint set), etc.

I have a nephew of the same age. He always thinks that he is a big boy, and wants other people to think so. He would be very happy when someone gives him a t-shirt one or two sizes bigger than his actual size. Not sure about your nephew though.

So, what did you end up giving him? My wife's nephew are a big fan of pizza. He would be OK with any birthday gifts he gets (actually he wouldn't really care about that), as long as he could get a large pizza for himself. He is not a demanding kid, I know.
